I’ve read a great many books on business, marketing, and sales over the years. So I can’t remember which book the story I’m about to relate came from.
There was a salesman who called his prospect every single Monday morning for years…. Yes, years. He had never closed the deal. But he remained persistent.
Finally, one Monday morning, he was ill and unable to call the prospect.
The prospect, worried about the salesman, called the salesman to make certain that he was okay. After they chatted about the salesman’s flu, the deal was closed.
Sometimes it’s a long journey to success. But success is waiting.
